Perris AYSO - Region 544

All AYSO Referees are Volunteers

Please support your child's team and volunteer to referee.
All training is provided.

Who are AYSO referees?

All volunteers, they are us. Many referees start when their children are young and move up with them. Referee training is provided for all age groups and levels.

Why does AYSO need volunteer referees?

AYSO is 100 percent volunteer organization; we all do it for the kids. Each season we need as many referees as coaches if not more; refereeing is easier and less of a time commitment. AYSO is about playing Fun, Fair and Safe. Our referee training is what makes it possible. If there is no official to referee a game the kids don’t get to play.

Refereeing is an important part of AYSO. Simply put, we cannot play games without the men and women in yellow. It's rewarding working with kids and can be a lot of fun as well.

To become a referee, all you need to do is complete a Basic Referee Class. Typically this is done either by an all- day class (we provide lunch) or a two-day course (we provide drinks and snacks). Visit our region calendar to see upcoming classes.

We will bring you along slowly and as you gain experience and confidence, you can progress to the higher levels.

Refereeing is also key to our Perris Cup. In order for teams to qualify for the season-ending tournament, teams must earn 60 volunteer points, 30 of which must come from refereeing.

If you are interested in refereeing, drop a note to us at:
